2019 MEMBERSHIP RENEWAL
Stand with our combat troops and wounded veterans through Freedom Alliance.
Dear Fellow Patriot,
I urgently need your Freedom Alliance Membership Renewal gift for 2019. This is a tremendously challenging time for the combat troops and wounded veterans you and I serve through Freedom Alliance.
Just this week, two of our service members and two American civilians were killed by an ISIS suicide bomber in Syria. Three other service members were injured in the blast. This was the largest loss of American lives in the fight against ISIS in Syria.
The great sacrifices our troops and their families make are intensely personal for me. As a Marine, I saw comrades die, some in my arms. I witnessed others making it back home but leaving parts of themselves in a far-off land.
And I’ve looked into the eyes of spouses and young children and have seen the immeasurable pain and hurt loved ones suffer as the result of war.
These events inspired me to found Freedom Alliance in 1990. And thanks to patriots like you, we are supporting our troops overseas and providing vital care for our wounded heroes and military families here at home.
That’s why I’m asking you to please take a moment right now to send me your 2019 Membership renewal contribution to help fund our work providing active-duty troops, severely wounded vets, and their families with the moral and financial support they desperately need: $25, $35, $50, $100, $250, $1,000 or more.
We nearly exhausted our coffers in 2018 providing emergency financial support to hospitalized and wounded troops, Christmas gifts for the children of military families, Gifts From Home Care Packages to deployed troops in war zones across the globe, and other urgently-needed aid to our veterans and their families.
The fact is the Membership Renewal gifts we receive early in the year will determine our budget — and ultimately our success — for the next 12 months. And it’s critical all of Freedom Alliance’s vital programs be fully funded if we are to succeed in 2019.
My friend, the men and women serving our country, those who come home horribly wounded, and the children of the fallen who suffer immeasurable grief have all come to rely on you.
Matt Lutynski, a 17-year Air Force veteran who’s 100% disabled, says: “You have no idea what Freedom Alliance has done for me. I can — with all honesty and seriousness — say that Freedom Alliance has saved my life and also my marriage … I feel that I owe you everything for what you have done for me.”
And Jeremiah “Doc” Harrold, a combat wounded U.S. Navy Corpsman, adds: “I go to two or three events a year through Freedom Alliance — they are what keep me going all year … it’s therapeutic.”
I hope you understand the heartfelt words of Matt and Doc only touch on a tiny fraction of all the good your donations have helped accomplish — like helping the children of our wounded and fallen warriors through the Freedom Alliance Scholarship Fund.
We’ve awarded more than $14 million in college scholarships to the sons and daughters of America’s military heroes. And the Scholarship Fund is more than a check in the mail. Freedom Alliance becomes part of these families through outreach programs such as our Annual Retreat for Scholarship recipients, birthday cards, exam care packages, graduation packages, and much more.
As David Smith, son of Medal of Honor recipient Paul Smith, put it, “Freedom Alliance is more than a foundation from its very core. It’s a movement where complete strangers become family. Where our future gets to thrive, and our families are never forgotten. Without Freedom Alliance, my life would have never been the way it is today.”
I cannot bear the thought of letting down our troops and their families — but fulfilling our mission of serving them depends on patriots like you renewing your support for 2019 right away.
