Already in 2021, we’ve seen the worst terrorist attack in Iraq since the fall of ISIS. There’s widespread speculation that the new administration is sending more U.S. troops to both Iraq and Syria. American service members also remain in harm’s way in Afghanistan.

And things could soon get worse for our men and women in uniform.

Chinese military aircraft recently violated Taiwan’s airspace in a dramatic escalation of hostilities by Beijing. These provocative actions included flying eight bombers capable of dropping nuclear weapons on our ally. And that’s on top of China’s growing belligerence throughout the South China Sea and on its border with India.

Here on the home front, things are also tense. We received a record number of phone calls from combat veterans overcome by anxiety when angry mobs overran the U.S. Capitol in January. They experienced the same stress and worry during the riots in our cities last summer.

And this all happens as our nation’s veterans continue suffering from the disruptions surrounding the ongoing COVID-19 pandemic.

In these times of crisis, veterans desperately need to talk with people they can trust. So they’re turning to our staff at Freedom Alliance. We’re spending hours listening to their concerns and reassuring them. Many of those we’re counseling are emotionally vulnerable and have no one else to turn to.

So both active-duty troops and wounded heroes immediately need your renewed support.

Your renewal gift will help us rush our Gifts From Home Care Packages to American troops overseas. These care packages include essential items needed to keep our troops alive, healthy, warm, dry, nourished, and as comfortable as possible. And we are one of the few organizations still sending care packages like these to combat troops overseas.
