Staff Sergeant Tim Sanders of Orlando, Florida, was medically retired in June 2017, after more than 18 years of service to our nation. While serving in Afghanistan, he survived numerous IED attacks. But those explosions resulted in a host of combat-related injuries, including a traumatic brain injury and paralysis in his right leg.
