Dear Fellow Patriot,
As you and I prepare to celebrate another peaceful holiday season here at home, our troops overseas continue to fight for our freedom and security. And many of our wounded veterans are facing financial hardship and are feeling stressed and worried instead of joyfully thinking about Christmas.
We must not forget our dedicated service members who will be separated from family and friends at this special time of year. And must not forget those who suffered terrible wounds fighting for our nation.
My friend, believe me, the support you and I provide to our troops, our wounded veterans, and their families through Freedom Alliance makes a vital difference — especially during the season of giving.
That’s why I hope you will help me make Freedom Alliance’s #GivingTuesday charity campaign a tremendous success this year.
#GivingTuesday, on November 27, is a day focused on giving to charitable causes following the “shopping holidays” of Black Friday and Cyber Monday.
This #GivingTuesday, as you consider where to send your charitable gifts, I pray you will let our heroes who have sacrificed so much for our freedom know that they are in our hearts this holiday season.
I’m talking about heroes like Navy Petty Officer Second Class Matthew True. Matthew served 12 years in the Navy with two deployments to Afghanistan and two to Iraq. After surviving multiple IED blasts and firefights with the enemy, he suffers from Post-Traumatic Stress and a Traumatic Brain Injury.
