Two Combat Veterans Receive Cars from Freedom Alliance
With our partners at U.S. Bank, Freedom Alliance provided loan-free vehicles to wounded combat veterans in need of reliable transportation. Freedom Alliance and U.S. Bank are committed to honoring service members for their sacrifice.
The two recipients were Army 1LT Tory Sailor and Army SSG Venasio Sele.
Tory Sailor Deployed to Afghanistan in 2012 and served as a Fire Support Officer and a Battalion Pay Agent. In his latter role, Tory worked directly with Afghan tribal and government leaders to help them build their communities.
One day as Tory was participating in a meeting of tribal leaders his unit was attacked from two sides. He had to quickly get back to his vehicle to call in air strikes. When he got to his truck, he was hit with a blast and pinned between the door & door frame. He broke two ribs and two vertebrae and lost sensation in his right arm.
Tory is a recipient of the Purple Heart.
Venasio fought in Iraq and sustained severe head wounds from a Vehicle Borne IED.
The explosion left him with a loss of vision in one eye, loss of hearing, a Traumatic Brain Injury and Post Traumatic Stress. He is the recipient of a Purple Heart and a Combat Action Badge.
For Tory, Venasio, and their families, these vehicles mean safe, reliable transportation and a relief of financial stress.
