Dear Fellow American,
I know you’re the kind of person who steps up when duty calls.
You’ve shown your commitment to help our brave men and women who were wounded in their service to our nation — and honor them for their many sacrifices so we can sleep peacefully at night.
That’s why I want to thank you for everything you’ve done to support America’s veterans and active-duty troops through Freedom Alliance in 2018.
YES, OLLIE! You can count on me help to make Christmas special for our cherished veterans, brave heroes, and their families. I am rushing you my generous tax-deductible contribution:
Because of you, we were able to change lives and save lives in 2018. That’s why I’m hoping I can count on you again today to send a special Christmas gift of $25, $50, or even $100 or more.
Please, allow me to share a few stories that highlight the impact you’ve had ...
U.S. Army Spc. Thomas Travis served as a military policeman on deployments to Iraq and to Afghanistan — where he suffered a severe traumatic brain injury and a knee injury after surviving several improvised explosive device blasts.
Thomas, his wife Bethany, and their five kids drive long distances several times a week for his medical appointments. When we heard they were traveling in their old, unreliable van without air conditioning — and were worried about it breaking down — we acted.
Thanks to the generosity of Patriots like you, we recently gave the Travis family a 2015 Chrysler Town & Country Touring minivan — complete with video screens for the kids, two years of free maintenance, and a fully functioning air conditioner. Now the Travis family can comfortably and safely get to Thomas’ medical appointments.
“This means a lot for us. It really is life changing,” Bethany told us.
U.S. Marine Corps Sgt. Jacob De Le Garza lost his leg when the enemy triggered an explosive while he was on foot patrol in Afghanistan. He spent a year and a half in the hospital.
The enemy robbed Jacob of his leg, but they could not take away his fighting spirit. However, without his leg, Jacob had difficulty doing outdoor activities with his children — hiking, hunting, and fishing excursions that help him and other wounded veterans with their rehab and recovery.
Your support helped us give Jacob a state-of-the-art all-terrain wheelchair. Now Jacob can hunt and fish easily. Most importantly, he can enjoy hikes with his two kids.
“Thank you for making this happen,” Jacob told us. “There are a bunch of trails back at home too long for me to walk with my kids. They’ll definitely be excited.”
Your generosity gave Jacob the gift of mobility — and time with his children.
In Afghanistan, U.S. Army Sgt. Aaron Hillis suffered a traumatic brain injury when his vehicle set off an improvised explosive device. To this day, Aaron still endures a steady stream of anxiety attacks, panic attacks, and night terrors.
Aaron was awarded the Purple Heart and other commendations, but those honors did little to ease his anxiety or financial burdens. That’s where your support came in ...
Through our “Homes for Heroes” program, Aaron and his wife Elizabeth were presented with the keys to a newly renovated, mortgage-free home.
“It takes a huge financial burden off our hands,” Aaron says. “It makes it to where we can focus more on my health and get me back to where I should be mentally and physically.”
There’s a lot more I could say about how your generosity helped thousands of wounded combat veterans and troops serving overseas this year, but it all boils down to this:
None of it would have been possible without your help.
Although we’ve achieved a great deal together, we still have work to do on behalf of America’s military heroes ...
So if you can help again now, please send back your most generous Christmas gift today.
The Christmas season is a painful time for many military families who need our support.
Right now, many veterans are facing financial trouble due to high medical bills. They’re worried about being able to put presents under the tree for their children to open Christmas morning. The pain of not being able to give their families the joyful Christmas they deserve because of injuries and medical expenses can be debilitating.
My friend, you always come through for America’s veterans and active-duty service members. That’s why I know we can count on you now.
This Christmas, I hope you’ll send our troops, veterans, and military families the gift of a better tomorrow by contributing to Freedom Alliance.
I’m so proud to work alongside American Patriots like YOU. Together, we’ve achieved so much on behalf of America’s military veterans and active-duty troops this year. With your help, I know there’s no limit to what we can accomplish in 2019.
Merry Christmas, Happy New Year, and God bless you.
Semper Fidelis,
LtCol Oliver L. North, USMC (Ret.)
Founder and Honorary Chairman, Freedom Alliance
